Leigh Thompson offers consulting and training in negotiations, decision making, emotional intelligence, and leading teams for numerous companies and organizations, including: Abbott, GE, Thomson Reuters, CSX, the American Orthopaedic Association, UnitedHealth Group, Cummins, Microsoft, Office Max, Selective Insurance, Unilever, Hollister, and the Intelligence Community. All of the work I do is based on rigorous management theory and research and the objective is to improve the ability of people to maximize their personal effectiveness and achieve their goals. My consulting and training is divided into five major areas: Negotiation, Leadership, Teamwork, Creativity, and Emotional Intelligence and Coaching.
The training method I use is based upon a 3-part model of change and improvement: Assessment, Feedback & Action Skills.
Assessment: The training methods are highly interactive: managers and executives are invited to test their abilities. This is the opposite of passive learning. Learning by doing is extraordinarily effective.
Feedback: Participants are provided with immediate and detailed feedback regarding their behaviors, judgments, decisions, and interpersonal effectiveness. This is a great opportunity for people to evaluate their effectiveness within a safe, learning environment.
Action Skills:Most important, participants are provided with a toolbox of customized skills that can be put to use to improve their effectiveness.
